WBB in Costa Rica: Muddy Adventure

Aug. 18, 2017

Thursday brought an off the court adventure for the women's basketball team with the squad getting a close up of what Costa Rica has to offer.

Sophomore Erin Whalen's thoughts from the day:
What an experience yesterday was! We started the morning out early with a team trip to Vista Los Sueños Rainforest Tours, where we all went zip-lining through the rainforest. We then broke into groups for either an ATV tour or a horseback riding excursion. I was part of the group that went on the ATV tour, but it really should have been called a “mud bath” because by the end of the tour everyone was covered in mud head-to-toe.

The tour itself lasted around three hours, and we traveled deep through the rainforest down numerous trails, by rivers and through tons of muddy paths. We got to experience some incredible ocean views and got to see lots of different types of wildlife that the rainforest has to offer.

My personal favorite detour was at the end of the tour where we found this beautiful waterfall tucked deep in the Rainforest. We slid down the rocks into the water, did mini cliff jumping and had a great time.

The entire day was an experience I'll never forget, and I am so thankful I was able to be a part in it.

The team is set to return to Nashville on Saturday.
