The Vanderbilt women's basketball team continues to make an impact on an international level.

Vanderbilt freshmen Khaléann Caron-Goudreau and Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau -- twin sisters from Gatineau, Quebec -- have earned roster spots on Canada's Senior B Women’s National Team that will compete in Taipei, Taiwan in the upcoming William Jones Cup International Tournament.

The announcement about the twins comes less than a week after Paris Kea, another Vanderbilt freshman, helped the USA U18 team capture a gold medal in the FIBA Championships.

The Caron-Goudreau twins spent much of the summer in Nashville, getting acclimated with the Vanderbilt campus and successfully completing two courses.

The twins and their Canadian teammates will play five games in five days in a round-robin style tournament. Participating teams are: Canada National Team B, Japan – Denso Iris WJBL Team, Korea National Team, USA Pro Select Team, Chinese Taipei National Team A and Chinese Taipei National Team B.

Canadian head coach Fabian McKenzie will be leading the team through the tournament, where the players will look to gain experience against quality opponents.

"We are looking forward to our trip to Taipei to represent Canada Basketball in the Jones Cup," said McKenzie. "Our team has put in a tremendous amount of work throughout training camp and is ready to put what they have learned into action. I have been very impressed with the performance of our group and I am excited to see them play."
