WBB coaching staff takes part in Chillin4Charity

June 20, 2014

The Vanderbilt WBB players gave their coaches the cold shoulder on Friday afternoon.

And the coaches weren't offended.

Taking part in the Chillin4Charity challenge -- which benefits the Kay Yow Cander fund -- the Vanderbilt staff, including head coach Melanie Balcomb, were doused with a cooler of ice water on Friday at Hawkins Field.

The Commodore coaches agreed to endure the ice water after being "challenged" to do so by some of their fellow coaches from around the nation. The Vanderbilt coaches have now issued some challenges of their own, calling for other coaches to take the plunge, so to speak.

Balcomb challenged Tennessee-Chattanooga head coach (and former Vanderbilt head coach) Jim Foster, Tennessee head coach Holly Warlick and MTSU head coach Rick Insell. Other coaches who were "called out" by the Vanderbilt staff members included Mercer head coach Susie Gardner, Dayton assistant coach Camryn Whitaker, Chicago Sky (WNBA) assistant coach Christie Sides, Hofstra assistant coach Denise King, Hofstra assistant coach Adia Revell, Canisius assistant coach Megan Shoniker, Ball State assistant coach Rachel Galligan and Auburn assistant coach Ty Evans.
