Catching up with the Commodores: Gabby Smith

Are you curious what some of the former Vanderbilt players are doing these days? We are providing answers to that question this week with our "Catching up with the Commodores" package.

The package -- which continues today with an interview of Gabby Smith -- is spotlighting a handful of popular players from the past. Some of the players have returned to campus recently to serve as instructors during the various camps being hosted by the WBB program.

Here is the "Catching up with Commodores" schedule for the week, with a different player -- all of whom were fan favorites at Memorial Gym -- being featured each day:

Thursday: Merideth Marsh interview
Friday: Caroline Williams interview

GABBY AT VANDERBILT 

• Saw action in 127 games, including 28 starts
• Shot 83 percent from the foul line (54-for-65) for her career
• Scored a career-high 18 points in win over MTSU in 2010-11 season
• Three-time member of SEC Academic Honor Roll
• 2012-13 SEC Community Service Team
• Played in 30 games as a senior, making 10 starts
• Reached double figures in scoring four times in her career
