Bowe to miss remainder of spring semester

Feb. 27, 2014

Vanderbilt's Heather Bowe, a sophomore on the women's basketball team, will not be enrolled in school for the remainder of the spring semester due to a violation of university academic policy. She is expected to return to class and the team this summer.

"I take full responsibility for my mistake," said Bowe. "I respect Vanderbilt University and look forward to returning as soon as possible."

Bowe has seen action in 27 games this season, and has made 21 starts. She is averaging 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds.

"Although Heather's current situation does not detract from the positive impact that she has had on our program and the university, she must face the consequences of her actions," said Vanderbilt head coach Melanie Balcomb. "This has and will continue to be a significant learning experience for Heather and the team. We look forward to her return."
