KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The 12th-ranked Vanderbilt women's basketball team closes out the 2006-07 regular season on the road this Sunday, traveling to face second-ranked Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena. The game will be televised by FSN South, and is scheduled to tip-off at Noon CT.

The Commodores are fresh off a 68-58 upset of No. 7 LSU on Thursday. On Senior Night, VU forward Carla Thomas scored a game-high 23 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including her first career three-pointer. Classmate Dee Davis added 17 points and eight assists for Vanderbilt (24-4, 10-3 Southeastern Conference) -- looking for its first 11-win SEC season in school history.

Tennessee (26-2, 13-0 SEC) is looking to close out the regular season with a perfect conference record for the eighth time. On Thursday, the Lady Vols narrowly escaped Arkansas' Senior Night with a win. The Lady'Backs forced the game into overtime, where Tennessee was victorious, 75-68.

Vanderbilt enters Sunday's game leading the nation in three-point field-goal percentage and ranking second in overall field-goal percentage (behind only Ohio State). Senior Caroline Williams, the reigning SEC Player of the Week, is the country's most accurate long-range shooter, connecting on 50.3 percent of her three-point attempts this season.

While Tennessee has already clinched the regular season league title and a No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, Vanderbilt's post-season seeding is still up in the air. The Commodores are currently in a tie for second with Georgia at 10-3, one game ahead of both Ole Miss and LSU at 9-4. A top-four finish in league play guarantees a bye in the first round of the SEC Tournament, which begins on Thursday, March 1.
