Lister, Foggie named to Staley Watch List

Jan. 31, 2014

Vanderbilt senior guards Jasmine Lister and Christina Foggie have each been named to the 2014 Dawn Staley Award watch list by the Phoenix Club of Philadelphia.

Vanderbilt is one of only two schools -- along with UConn -- to have two representatives on the list. (UConn teammates Breanna Stewart and Bria Hartley are both on the list).

The Dawn Staley Award winner will be announced during final four weekend and the award ceremony will be held in April at the Union League of Philadelphia.

The award was established in 2013 to recognize the nation's best guard in Women's Division I college basketball tying one of the most accomplished women's basketball players in the world from the Philadelphia Public League to the nation's best guard in women's college basketball.

The award will be given annually to a player who exemplifies the skills that Dawn possessed throughout her career, ball handling, scoring, her ability to distribute the basketball and her will to win.

Skylar Diggans of the University of Notre Dame, was last year's inaugural Dawn Staley award winner.
