Vanderbilt players deliver Teddy Bears to hospital

Jan. 13, 2014

In a move that would make Santa Claus proud, a group of the Vanderbilt women's basketball players, along with representatives from Erie Insurance, delivered several bag loads of Teddy Bears and stuffed animals to the Monroe Carell Jr.'s Children Hospital on Monday.

Kylee Smith, Marqu'es Webb, Kendall Shaw, Rebekah Dahlman and Jasmine Jenkins were among the group that were on hand for the special delivery.

The stuffed animals were collected during last month's Teddy Bear Toss -- a promotion that took place at halftime of Vanderbilt's game against UNC Asheville on Dec. 20. During that event, fans brought Teddy Bears and stuffed animals to the gym, and competed for a Vanderbilt prize pack by attempting to hit a target at midcourt. After the contest, all the stuffed animals were collected for Monday's delivery.
