NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Liz Sherwood scored 20 points to lead No. 20 Vanderbilt to a 75-54 victory over Western Kentucky on Thursday night.
Jessica Mooney added 16 points and Jennifer Risper had 12 for the Commodores (8-2), who shot 50.8 percent from the field for the game.
Crystal Kelly led Western Kentucky (6-3) with 15 points.
The Lady Toppers made only one field goal over the final 14:04 of the first half and had only three during a span of 18:28. Western Kentucky shot a season-low 30.8 percent for the game.
Vanderbilt recorded nine blocked shots and 17 steals.
The Commodores broke the game with a 15-4 at the start of the second half, taking a 50-30 lead with 16:01 remaining on a basket by Sherwood.
The lead grew to 63-34, the largest of the game, with 11:15 left on a steal and layup by Risper.
The Commodores will return to action this Sunday to host Colorado at 2 p.m. CT.
