On Liz Sherwood scoring 22 points on her 22nd birthday... "I asked her to go out and score 22 points on her birthday. I was watching the North Carolina game last week where a guy scored 19 on his 19th birthday. So that is what I told her to do. If they all listened like that we would be in good shape."
On Sherwood's performance... "She played a full game tonight. She did well on both ends of the floor. When we weren't hitting our shots, she went out and got some offensive rebounds, and that is exactly what we needed."
On the team's ability to score inside... "We weren't hitting our three's early so we went to the high-low. It is nice to have a team with so many weapons. Our high-low opened up the game for Christina [Wirth] and Caroline [Williams] in the second half."
On Clemson's full-court pressure... "We haven't played a team that pressured us full court for all forty minutes like that. So this was a good experience for us."
On Vanderbilt getting 35 points from its bench... "[The starters] know they can go hard and that there is someone there to relieve them. Also, it helps us competitively because they know that if they don't play well there is someone there who will. So we have a real push that we haven't had in past years."
"I was glad to see all the people out tonight that dressed up to help us support a great cause. I was hoping to be able to shoot the ball a little bit better and put some more points up for our fans, but Clemson didn't allow us to do that. You have to give them credit."
On a post-game conversation with Chancellor Gordon Gee... "He told me that he was proud of our effort as a team. He could tell our chemistry is good, he is really fired up about the freshman class."
On Vanderbilt starting the game quickly... "I think we were all pretty anxious with it being our first game on national television this year and all the hype of the 'Pink Out' and all of the fans. So we put a lot of stress on coming out and winning the first four minutes."
