2014: At the SEC Championships, he ran a 31:02.30... Ran a 28:32.41 at the Florida State Invitational... Competed in the Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 29:58.0... Finished the Commodore Classic with a 27:53.73... Posted a time of 16:46.82 at the Belmont Opener in his collegiate debut for the Commodores. 

Personal: Son of Mike and Joy DeFabrizio. Sam enjoys writing and wants to be a published author in the future. He swam competitively for a number of years before switching to running full time; he now does triathlons in his free time. Sam considers himself "an aspiring good person" and "a dabbler in many things but an expert in none."
