Nov. 21, 2012

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s tennis head coach Ian Duvenhage announced the signing of Ryan Smith to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

Smith, a Weston, Fla., native is currently ranked 46th nationally by Tennis Recruiting and seventh overall in the state of Florida. A blue chip and five-star prospect at Cypress Bay High School, Smith has been ranked in the top-20 each of his first three years as a junior player.

“We are very excited to have Ryan as a part of our program,” Coach Duvenhage said. “Ryan is a lefty with a big serve and a big forehand. He is a very talented and hard-working athlete and we expect great things from him.”

Smith will join the Commodores in the fall of 2013.
