NASHVILLE, Tenn. - For the seventh-straight year the Vanderbilt men's tennis team will participate in the annual ITA Kick-off weekend. After hosting the two-day tournament in 2014 the Commodores will be back on the road in 2015, heading three hours up I-65 to Lexington, Ky. The Kentucky Wildcats will host the No. 2 seed Vanderbilt, No. 3 seed South Florida and No. 4 seed Penn State.
Last season the Commodores dropped their opening match in the ITA Kick-off to eventual No. 8 Texas Longhorns. Vanderbilt is 6-6 in ITA Kick-off matches.
Vanderbilt will head to Kentucky, which finished the 2014 season ranked No. 12. The Wildcats finished the year 23-10, making it all the way to the NCAA Sweet 16 before falling to Clemson.
South Florida finished the 2014 season ranked No. 23 by the ITA. The Bulls ended the year in the NCAA second round with a loss to the Florida Gators, finishing with an overall record of 19-7.
Penn State ended its 2014 campaign with a record of 22-6, losing in the NCAA second round to Virginia. The Nittany Lions finish the season ranked No. 24 by the ITA.
The Wildcats are one of 15 regional hosts across the country. The winner from each region will head to Illinois for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
