The Vanderbilt men's tennis team hosts Kentucky on Saturday afternoon in the final regular season match of the year. Doubles play will begin at 1 p.m. at the Currey Tennis Center.
Since dropping three consecutive conference matches, the Commodores have won four of their last five, including two 7-0 sweeps. The Dores look to gain even more momentum heading into the SEC Tournament, which starts on Thursday.
The Commodores, ranked 29th in the latest ITA poll, stand 13-8 on the season with a 4-6 mark in SEC play. Ryan Lipman holds a 15-6 record in dual matches and is ranked 30th in the nation. Lipman and Adam Baker are the 35th-ranked doubles pair in the nation, though Vanderbilt has seen some change in its doubles lineup recently.
Kentucky enters the weekend having won five of its last six matches, including the last four. Eric Quigley, ranked third in the nation, holds a 19-6 record in dual matches this year. The Wildcats have three other players ranked in the top 120, with Alex Musialek coming in at No. 56, Alberto Gonzalez is ranked 88th and Anthony Rossi is No. 117.
In doubles, the duo of Quigley and Brad Cox are ranked 32nd in the nation, while Gonzalez and freshman Tom Jomby are 84th.
