With three matches left in the regular season, the Vanderbilt men’s tennis team hosts LSU and Arkansas at the Currey Tennis Center this weekend.
Entering the weekend, the Commodores hold an 11-8 record, with a 2-6 mark in SEC matches. Led by sophomore Ryan Lipman, Vanderbilt is ranked 33rd in the latest ITA College Tennis Poll. Lipman is the 27th ranked singles player, and he holds a 13-6 record in dual matches, all at the No. 1 position. Though the doubles lineup has seen some movement in the past two weeks, the duo of Lipman and Adam Baker are ranked 48th in the nation and are 10-7 on the season.
LSU is ranked 30th in the latest ITA poll, and stands 9-10 on the season, with a 4-4 record in conference play. In doubles, the duo of Sebastian Carlsson and Neal Skupski boast a 14-4 record on court one and are the 10th ranked pair in the nation. Skupski and Carlsson are also ranked in singles play, with Skupski at 82nd, and Carlsson at 124th.
The No. 75 Arkansas Razorbacks enter the weekend with a 7-13 overall record and are looking for their first conference win of the season. Christopher Nott leads the team with a 6-8 record at the No. 1 position in singles. In doubles, the duo of Michael Ward and Nikolas Zogaj have posted an 8-8 record in dual matches, with six of the wins coming on court three.
