Dores host Indiana, Belmont Sunday

NASHVILLE – No. 33 Vanderbilt is home for a doubleheader for the second weekend in a row versus No. 30 Indiana and Belmont Sunday afternoon at the Currey Tennis Center. The Commodores host Indiana at 12 p.m., followed by the match versus Belmont at approximately 4:30 p.m. Admission is free to both matches.
Last Time Out
Vanderbilt bounced back after falling to No. 47 Harvard Sunday, Feb. 10, to defeat the 31st-ranked Memphis Tigers, 4-2, and the Lipscomb Bison, 4-0, Friday, Feb. 15. With the two wins, Vanderbilt improved to 7-3 on the season. The Commodores received strong play from veteran Ryan Lipman and freshmen Kris Yee and Marc van der Merwe. All three players combined to go 6-0 in singles play, while Lipman and van der Merwe teamed up to go 2-0 in doubles play. Lipman and Yee are both on impressive runs as they are a combined 17-3 in their last 10 singles matches.
About No. 30 Indiana
No. 30 Indiana (6-5) enters Nashville on a five-match winning streak and wins over Brown, Eastern Kentucky, Ball State, Dartmouth and IUPUI. The Hoosiers are not represented in the latest ITA singles rankings, but have two doubles team ranked. Sam Monette and Isade Juneau come in at No. 21, while Juneau and Josh MacTaggart come in at No. 56.
Belmont (1-2) makes the quick trip across town to finish the doubleheader at Vanderbilt. The Bruins lone win came over Cumberland (Tenn.), while dropping matches to Tennessee and Chattanooga. Henrique Norbiato leads Belmont with a 7-5 record in singles play, while playing in the Nos. 1 and 2 position this season.
