Lipman wins consolation match
Nov. 9, 2012 FLUSHING, N.Y. – Ryan Lipman survived to see another day after winning his first consolation match at the After falling in his first round match of the main draw on Thursday, Lipman was sent to the consolation bracket. In the first round of consolation matches, Lipman went head-to-head with Santa Clara’s John Lamble. Lipman needed just two sets to defeat Lamble, but they were two hard-fought sets. In the end, Lipman won 6-4, 7-5, and will play in the quarterfinals. Lipman will play Enej Bonin from the University of Denver on Saturday in the quarterfinal round of consolation matches.
