High School: Rowe currently competed for the Coronado High School Islanders, established a 21-0 record that includes 12 playoff matches for the CIF Division I Team Championships. In the Division I Team Finals, where Coronado took second place, Rowe lost only five games in 12 sets.
Personal: William James Rowe…Goes by Billy … Son of Jim and Suellen Rowe … Has three siblings; twin brother Charley, Mackenzie and Mandy…Father and grandfather played collegiate tennis… Began playing tennis at the age of four … Names Andy Roddick as his favorite tennis player, and LaDainian Tomlinson as his favorite non-tennis pro athlete … Bucket list includes skydiving … Favorite sports team is the San Diego Chargers … Favorite movie is Step Brothers ... Sister attended Vandy, twin currently plays golf for UVA … Decided to attend Vanderbilt because, “I loved the coaches and the guys on the team. Also, you can’t beat the academics.”
With tennis a family affair that stretches four generations, Billy continues on the family tradition of collegiate tennis, which was started by his great-grandfather and passed down. Jimbo Rowe, Billy's father, played at University of Redlands; Lionel (Billy's Grandfather) played at University of Virginia and Lionel's father played for U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.
