KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. - Vanderbilt's Luke List rebounded to shoot a one-under 70 Friday, but the Commodores are 21st and find themselves 26 strokes out of 10th place heading into the final round of the NCAA East Regional at the Golf Club of Tennessee. Vandy finished with a 294 on the day and have a two-day total of 595.
Dos Goldsmith shot 76 and is three-over par 145 for the tournament putting him in 61st place. List is tied for 77th at six-over par 148 while Mark Donnell is tied for 88th at eight-over par for the tournament. Brett Lange added a one-over par 72 Friday. Will Armstrong rounded out the scoring with an 83. List and Lange paced Vanderbilt on day two. Lange shot a 33 on the back nine after starting off the day with three birdies in his first six holes. He followed that up with a 39 on the front nine. List posted a 38 on the back nine. He birdied four times in the last five holes to finish with a 70.
The Commodores will now tee of the final round at around 12:36 p.m. Saturday.
Wake Forest continues to lead the tournament at 14-under par 554. Florida is second (11-under par 557) followed by Georgia (558) and Tennessee (558) who are both tied for third place. Duke is fifth at nine-under par 559. East Tennessee State, Alabama, Louisville, Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern round out the top 10.
ETSU's Rhys Davies is the individual leader at 11-under par 131. He shot 65 Friday to pull ahead of Duke's Michael Schachner who sits 10-under par 132 for the tournament. Florida's Matt Every, Georgia's Brendon Todd, Tennessee's Ross McGowan and Coastal Carolina's Dustin Johnson are tied for third at eight-under 134. Every and Schachner each fired a 63 for the day's top score.
The final round of the NCAA East Regional will get underway at 7:12 a.m. Saturday morning. Wake Forest, Florida and Georgia are the teams in group 1.
