Vanderbilt junior golfer Hunter Stewart finished his second round at the RBC Heritage with a total of 73 and is in a tie for 86th with a two-round score of 147 (74-73). Stewart is currently two shots back of the cut line, which is currently set at three-over par, 144, with a number of players still on the course after play was suspended due to bad weather.
The junior from Lexington, Ky., who is playing in his first PGA Tour event, started his second round on the back nine and had bogeys on four holes in his opening nine holes, but responded on his back nine, shooting a one-under par 35 and notching birdies on the number two and five holes. It was the second day in a row Stewart had birdied hole number two.
Although Stewart made no higher than a bogey in his 36 holes around Harbour Town, holes 11, 16, and 18 played particularly tough for the Commodore junior. He was a combined six-over par on those three holes on Thursday and Friday.
Stewart will now wait for the other competitors to finish their round to see if he can sneak into the weekend.
