Dores travel to Samford Intercollegiate

The Vanderbilt men's golf team will travel to Hoover, Ala., to compete in the Samford Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday at the Hoover Country Club.

The Commodores will compete with 17 other teams at the event - Auburn, Belmont, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Montevallo, Murray State, Presbyterian, Samford, Southern Illinois, Tennessee-Martin, Tennessee Tech, Western Carolina, and Winthrop will join Vanderbilt in the two-day, 54-hole tournament.

"We have had a couple of really good weeks of focused practice," said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. "The guys are excited about the opportunity they have to compete this week.  I really feel like our focus and our attention to detail have both improved.  College golf is  all about how you progress throughout the season, and we know we have plenty of room to grow as a team and we are excited about that."

Participating for the Commodores Monday and Tuesday are juniors Charlie Ewing and Mills Rendell, sophomores Hunter Stewart and Ben Fogler, and freshman Carson Jacobs.

The Hoover Country Club will be set up as a par-72, 7,001-yard format, with 36 holes being played on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

There will be no live scoring for the tournament, so tune in to vucommodores.com for results on Monday and Tuesday.
