Men's Golf Finishes Tied for 11th at Ashworth3/1/2005
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Luke List fired a one-under-par 70, but Vanderbilt's men's golf team slipped to an 11th place tie with Oregon State at the Ashworth Invitational Tuesday.
List had his best round of the 54-hole tournament. The Ringgold, Ga., sophomore birdied two holes against a bogey on the front side of the North Ranch Country Club and came in with a birdie and bogey on the back nine to close with a 70. He ended seven-over par for the tourney, good for a tie for 29th place.
As a team, the Commodores shot 298 Tuesday to go with rounds of 301 and 293, 40-over par. Fifteen teams competed in the event, hosted by the University of Southern California.
Tennessee shot even par and defeated BYU by two shots to capture the team title. Aron Price of Georgia Southern won medalist honors at 10-under par. Complete results are found on golfstat.com
