The 17th-ranked Vanderbilt men's golf team continues its spring season this Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday at the Querrencia Cabo Intercollegiate in Los Cabos, Mexico at the par-71, Los Cabos Querencia. The Commodores will tee it up with 13 other teams for the 54-hole event, which begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT on Sunday.
“This will be our first time playing in the Querencia Cabo Collegiate in Cabo," said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. "It’s a great field on a great course and our guys are really excited about competing.”
The Commodores are coming off a third-place finish at their spring opener, the SunTrust Gator Invitational. Schwab led Vanderbilt at the tournament, finishing in a tie for sixth with a two-over par, 212 (71-71-70).
“Our focus after our first event of the spring has just been on doing the simple things correctly," said Limbaugh. "That is the challenge for us because when we do that and we take the right approach mentally, we are a good team.”
The par-71 Los Cabos Querrencia will be set up as three different layouts for the three days of play, with Abilene Christian, Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Houston, Kentucky, Lamar, LSU, Mississippi, SMU (host), and UT-Arlington competing with the Commodores.
