Construction on Vanderbilt's $2.3 million varsity clubhouse and teaching center at the Vanderbilt Legends Club is "on schedule," according to general contractor Skip Phipps of Phipps Construction Company, Inc.
A group of project stakeholders including the Phipps staff, architects, Vanderbilt Legends Club managers, university officials and head golf coaches Greg Allen and Scott Limbaugh are meeting every other Thursday for detailed progress reports.
Despite considerable rainfall in the Middle Tennessee area the past month, Phipps said that framing on the teaching center facility will start Friday (Feb. 8) and utilities will begin to be installed on the clubhouse the same time frame.
Limbaugh and Allen watch the progress on a daily basis as their teams are practicing for the upcoming spring season and agree that the final product will be an absolute game changer for their programs, from cutting edge teaching technology to beautiful team facilities.
The teaching facility is due to open April 15 and the clubhouse is targeted for completion August 22.
