Hofmann, DelGreco lead Dores at Prestige
Oct. 11, 2011 Senior Adam Hofmann finished in a tie for 10th with a final total of seven-under par, 209 (67-70-72) and fellow senior Trey DelGreco ended his tournament in a tie for 14th with a score of six-under, 210 (70-72-68) at The Prestige at PGA West in LaQuinta, Calif. As a team, Vanderbilt ended the event with a one-over par, 865 (288-290-287) and finished in 12th place. DelGreco posted his best round of the tournament with a four-under par 68, which moved him up seven places from round two, while Hofmann ended his final round with a an even-par 72. The Commodores also counted a 73 from freshman Hunter Stewart and a 74 from sophomore Mills Rendell. Sophomore Charlie Ewing shot a 76 on Tuesday. "Trey played a great round of golf today and Adam was his usual consistent self," said Vanderbilt head coach Tom Shaw. "It was good to see them have a good finish against a strong field of competition. The team did some good things against some strong West Coast teams, so it was a great learning experience for the guys." Oregon claimed the team title with a total of 32-under par, 832, two strokes better than second-place Washington. The Huskies’ Cheng-Tsung Pan won medalist honors with a 15-under par, 201. Oregon’s Eugene Wong finished second at 12-under. The Commodores return to the course October 23-25 at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Orlando, Fla. 12. Vanderbilt – 288-290-287=865
