ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Vanderbilt men's golf team finished in fourth place Tuesday at the 2009 Rio Pinar Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Florida.

Vanderbilt, Augusta State and Ole Miss were all deadlocked at seven-over, 20 shots off the pace set by homestanding Central Florida. UT-Arlington and Louisville placed second and third, respectively, in the 21-team field.

Junior Hudson Johnson was the low Commodore, though all six players for Vanderbilt fell within five strokes of one another in the top half of the 108-player field. Johnson shot a one-under 71 in Tuesday's third and final round to finish the tournament at plus-two (218) and record a Top 20 finish (T-18th).

Senior Jon Curran matched Johnson's score on Tuesday, shooting a one-under 71 to finish in a tie for 35th at five-over (221). Classmate Tyler Matthews placed in a tie for 22nd at three-over after a final round of 76.

Sophomore Ryan Haselden and freshman Trey DelGreco both finished at six-over for the two-day event (222), tying for 41st position. Playing unattached, junior Craig Tallent finished at seven-over with a final round of 76.

Central Florida's Blayne Barber (-12, 204) won medalist honors by two strokes over UT-Arlington's Bobby Massa. Two other Golden Knights were also in the top five.

Vanderbilt will return to the Sunshine State in two weeks to take on the field at the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., March 6-8.
