NASHVILLE - Vanderbilt and Boston College went head-to-head in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl's annual Rib Eating Contest Sunday night on the General Jackson Showboat.

In the team competition, Vanderbilt's Joey Bailey, Derrius Dowell, Bryant Hahnfeldt, and Broderick Stewart lost a heartbreaker to Boston College, 29-28. The Commodores could have taken the event if some of Bailey's bones hadn't been disqualified during the final count (referees ruled that the bones weren't clean).

With the weight of the team on his back, offensive lineman Eric Hensley, listed at 6'6-312, responded for the 'Dores by defeating his opponent 11-10 to take the individual title.
