NASHVILLE -- James Franklin has been impressed with Vanderbilt's return to the practice field.
With final exams completed, the Commodores resumed their bowl preparations on campus before getting a short break for the holidays. The head coach praised the Commodores' energy on Monday and Tuesday, saying the sessions are the best he's been around at this point of the season.
Franklin added that the team received their bowl gifts Tuesday, and had dinner plans at a Brazilian steakhouse Wednesday night. "We're going to put a hurting on [the restaurant] tonight. We're going to get our money's worth," Franklin quipped.
Vanderbilt will practice Thursday morning and then players will have the opportunity to travel home for the holidays. Vanderbilt will report back to work on Dec. 26, five days before the Commodores take on NC State in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on New Year's Eve.
