1510 WLAC apologizes to Vanderbilt fans

Nov. 18, 2012

The station management of Clear Channel Media + Entertainment, owners of Nashville’s News Radio 1510 WLAC, apologized Sunday to Vanderbilt University Athletics and its sports fans for a technical glitch that prevented postgame coverage of Vanderbilt’s football victory over the University of Tennessee Saturday night.

Dan Endom, Vice President and Market Manager of Clear Channel Media + Entertainment Nashville issued the following statement.

Vanderbilt students, alumni and fans all over the southeast counted on WLAC Saturday night for postgame coverage and unfortunately, we did not deliver. In the midst of the coverage we experienced a technical error and we were unable to rectify it before coverage ended. WLAC would like to formally apologize to all of the Commodore fans who tuned in and could not hear the postgame coverage. WLAC has applied safeguards that will prevent something like this from happening again and will rebroadcast the final minutes of the game and entire postgame coverage Monday night at 7 p.m. For anyone unable to listen Monday night, the program will be available via podcast after the rebroadcast. We thank Vanderbilt fans for their understanding and would like to congratulate the Commodores on such an outstanding and historical win.
