NASHVILLE, Tenn. - With the Kentucky-Vanderbilt football game on Saturday, Nov. 10 scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m., CT, Commodore officials have announced that tipoff for the Vanderbilt's men's basketball regular season opener slated for the same day will be at 7:00 p.m.
The football game pitting the Wildcats (6-3, 2-3) and the Commodores (5-3, 3-3) will be played in Vanderbilt Stadium. The men's basketball opener, featuring Kevin Stallings' Commodore squad that impressed the nation last year en route to the NCAA Sweet 16 and Dave Loos' defending Ohio Valley Conference regular season champion Austin Peay Governors, will tipoff next door in historic Memorial Gym.
The UK-Vanderbilt football game is sold out.
Individual tickets to the Vanderbilt-Austin Peay basketball game will be available starting Wednesday, Oct. 31, either via the web at vucommodores.com or by calling (615) 322-GOLD. Season ticket packages remain available for the upcoming Vanderbilt men's and women's basketball schedule.
Vanderbilt athletics announced Tuesday, in conjunction with the Southeastern Conference, that the Kentucky-Vanderbilt game will not be televised.
The football game could have big implications for both the Wildcats and Commodores. Both teams remain in contention for the SEC Eastern Division crown and a berth in the SEC Championship Game slated for Dec. 1 in Atlanta. Entering the 10th weekend of action on Saturday, all six SEC Eastern Division teams remain within one game of the division lead.
The Commodores will travel to Gainesville, Fla., this Saturday for an important game against the defending national champion Gators. Kentucky is off this weekend.
