Florida game to be televised

Oct. 27, 2008

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Vanderbilt's next home game, an outing against nationally ranked Florida on Nov. 8, will be televised, but Southeastern Conference officials will wait until this Saturday to announce whether the encounter will be played at night on the ESPN network or just before noon on Raycom Sports.

SEC officials granted a six-day selection waiver to ESPN for the Nov. 8 conference slate, which includes Florida at Vanderbilt and Georgia at Kentucky. CBS will televise the league's featured game, No. 2 ranked Alabama at No. 16 ranked LSU.

The league announced Monday that the Florida-Vanderbilt will kickoff at 7 p.m., CT, if the Gators defeat Georgia this Saturday in Jacksonville. The game will be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2 if Florida beats the Bulldogs.

If Georgia defeats the Gators, the Florida-Vanderbilt game will kickoff at 11:30 a.m., CT, and be televised across the Southeast on Raycom Sports.

Vanderbilt, 5-3 overall and 3-2 in SEC play, is off this week after dropping a close decision to Duke last Saturday on campus.
