Video: Franklin on Morning Joe

Oct. 7, 2011

Vanderbilt Head Coach James Franklin appeared as a guest on MSNBC's Morning Joe on Friday, just hours before the team departed for Saturday's game at Alabama (watch interview here).

Franklin was interviewed live via satellite by Willie Geist, a 1997 Vanderbilt graduate, who co-hosts the popular show with Joe Scarborough, an Alabama alum. The show originated from Tuscaloosa for Saturday's game and also featured interviews with Nick Saban and former Tide quarterback Joe Namath.

To add some black and gold to the set, Vanderbilt athletics mailed Geist a personalized No. 1 Vanderbilt jersey, which he proudly displayed throughout the show.

At the end of the interview, Franklin made a point to invite the show to Nashville next season when the Crimson Tide play at Vanderbilt Stadium.

Saturday's game kicks off at 6 p.m. CT and will air on ESPNU. Visit Gameday Central for complete information.
