NASHVILLE -- Football fans can purchase individual tickets to Saturday's Vanderbilt-Mississippi State game for $35 with a canned food donation to an important Middle Tennessee food bank.

Vanderbilt, teaming up with the Southeastern Conference through its annual Together We Can canned food drive, is offering the special discount only at its Athletic Box Office, located 2601 Jess Neely Drive, Nashville. The $15 discount will not be available on game day. The regular ticket price is $50.

Vanderbilt officials hope this special promotion will help increase canned food stocks at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee as winter months and the holiday season approaches.

All 12 SEC members are expected to participate in the Together We Can food drive this Saturday. Commodore student-athletes will be present outside gates at Vanderbilt Stadium prior to the game collecting canned food items. Fans are encouraged to bring multiple food cans, if possible. Kickoff for the Commodores and Bulldogs encounter is 6 p.m.

All donations will be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, which was created in 1978 as a central distribution center for delivering food for the needy in Nashville and the surrounding area.

A can of food for each ticket purchased is required to participate in the promotional $35 price.
