Franklin's Wednesday media session

Severe weather in Nashville knocked Vanderbilt off the practice field, but it didn't prevent the Commodores from finishing practice Wednesday night.

With thunderstorms rolling into the city, the team vacated the practice field and moved inside Memorial Gymnasium where the team completed practice.

"I thought our coaches and our players did a really good job of maximizing the situation that we did have, taking advantage of it, making the best of not the most ideal situation," Head Coach James Franklin said during the team's media session after practice.

The Commodores will practice again on Thursday before heading to Evanston, Ill., where they play at Northwestern on Saturday at 7 p.m.
