NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Fans in Middle Tennessee will have yet another option to listen to Vanderbilt football games this fall. Vanderbilt athletics and ALT 98.3 WNRQ-HD2 have reached an agreement to have Commodore football games carried on the new station this fall.

Having launched on Tuesday, ALT 98.3 offers mainstream alternative programming in the Nashville market, and features artists such as The Black Keys, Kings of Leon and Jack White. The new station will be commercial free through mid-September, with a local on-air talent lineup being announced soon.

ALT 98.3 will begin carrying Vanderbilt football games Thursday as the Commodores face Temple at 8:15 p.m. CT.

"We're extremely happy to announce that ALT 98.3 FM will simulcast, along with sister station 1510 WLAC AM, Vanderbilt football games for the 2014 season," said Dan Endom, VP and Market Manager, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Nashville. "Vanderbilt fans will now have a full market, crystal-clear FM signal to enjoy Commodore football."

The addition of 98.3 to Vanderbilt's broadcast lineup now gives fans four stations to listen to Commodore football on this fall. In addition to 98.3 FM, the games will still be carried on 1510 WLAC AM and 560 AM/95.9 FM WNSR.

"We are excited about being able to continue to find more ways to connect listeners in Middle Tennessee with Vanderbilt athletics," Associate Athletics Director Steve Walsh said. "ALT 98.3 provides another great option for our fans."

Also new for the 2014 season will be the elimination of a delay in the broadcasts. All four channels will broadcast Vanderbilt's games in real-time, thus improving the experience of listening to games in Vanderbilt Stadium.

The addition of 98.3 FM is the latest of recent audio changes made to better enhance the overall fan experience. In the last two weeks, Vanderbilt also announced that all live audio will be available for free on and that a new Vanderbilt Gameday App has been launched, providing users with free game audio, live stats and more.
