    Norman recovering after knee scope

Warren Norman, the 2009 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year, is listed as questionable for the Commodore season opener after undergoing an arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday. Dr. Kurt Spindler, Vanderbilt's head team physician, performed the procedure.

Norman is the SEC's reigning all-purpose yardage leader, after rushing for 783 yards and becoming an all-conference kickoff return specialist in his first year as a Commodore.

Norman is one of three Commodore running backs that has missed preseason practices due to injury. Sophomore Zac Stacy, a part-time starter at tailback last year, has returned to action after missing two weeks. Promising redshirt freshman Wesley Tate completed an array of conditioning activities at practice Tuesday and appears close to rejoining the squad.

The Commodores also return fifth-year senior Kennard Reeves at running back.
