Dores enjoy great weather and fans at Wednesday practice

Aug 14, 2013

Nashville, Tenn. - Vanderbilt wrapped up the team's third two-a-day practice of the preseason on Wednesday in unbelievable weather and a practice facility full of fans.

With temperatures hovering in the 70s fans flocked to the Dores' open afternoon practice. The crowd was treated to a high-energy outing that lasted just under two hours. Following the workout players and coaches thanked fans for coming.

Coach Franklin praised the tempo in both Wednesday practices singling out quarterbacks Austyn Carta-Samuels, Patton Robinette and Josh Grady for their quality work and development. The offensive and defensive lines continued their highly competitive battles in the trenches during team drills and one-on-one drills. The Dores worked out in the morning in full pads before donning shoulder pads, helmets and shorts in the afternoon practice.

Vanderbilt returns to the practice field tomorrow afternoon for one practice.

The Ice Cream Man
The Commodores ended the morning session in a cool way with an ice cream truck rolling onto the practice field at the end of practice. The team erupted at the sight of The Mean Green Ice Cream Machine and immediately ran to get in line. The team enjoyed Spider-Man and SpongeBob SquarePants ice cream bars among other favorites.
