Dores wrap up first week with short practice

Aug. 7, 2014

Head Coach Derek Mason and the Commodores wrapped up the team's first week of fall camp with an abbreviated practice on Thursday afternoon.

The Dores cut Thursday's practice short following the team's 72-play scrimmage on Wednesday. The scrimmage, the first of the fall for the Black & Gold, went well according to Mason with the team working inside Vanderbilt Stadium for the first time during camp.

With practice over early on Thursday, the entire coaching staff and team made the short walk over to the rec center to participate in a Navy SEAL workout.

The Commodores will be back on the practice field Friday afternoon with the first two-a-day practice slated for Saturday. Vanderbilt hosts its annual Dore Jam on Sunday inside the indoor practice facility for the first time. Admission is free with the event scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
