Nashville - Following the first back-to-back postseason bowl appearances in team history and looking to expand its fan base across Middle Tennessee, Vanderbilt athletics announced Monday that remaining 2013 season tickets are now available for sale.
Athletic officials expect to build on successful ticket sales from a year ago, when James Franklin's squad played in front of three capacity crowds in Vanderbilt Stadium. It marked the program's most sellouts in a season since 1996.
Season tickets start as low as $151 per seat, with seats available for buyers looking for sideline or end zone locations.
"While enjoying a strong season ticket renewal that is running ahead of 2012 sales, we're now in a position to open our remaining season ticket locations," Marketing Director Steve Walsh said. "We're looking forward to surpassing last year's totals and reaching our goal of selling out our season ticket allocation for the upcoming season."
The Commodores, coming off a 9-4 season capped with a convincing victory in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, open the season against Southeastern Conference Western Division rival Ole Miss on Thursday, Aug. 29. The Commodores also host three other SEC opponents - Missouri on Oct. 5, Georgia on Oct. 19 and Kentucky on Nov. 16 - in addition to non-league encounters against Austin Peay on Sept. 7, UAB on Sept. 28 and Wake Forest on Nov. 30.
The ticket office opened new season ticket sales just days after completing seating upgrades for all renewing ticket holders. With that task finished, ticket office staff can identify seat locations for new season ticket buyers.
Similar to a year ago, Vanderbilt is offering different prices in its end zone sections: $166 for south end zone sections and $151 for general admission seats in the north end zone hillside which opened for the 2012 season. Sideline seats on both the east and west sides of Vanderbilt Stadium are also available for $321 per seat.
Limited availability also remains for premium seat locations in the National Commodore Club area for $321 per ticket. An additional donation is required for ticket purchases in NCC sections.
A Family Plan package, consisting of two adult and two youth (ages 17 & under), also is available in south end zone sections. The Family Plan price is $479, or less than $120 per seat.
All full-time Vanderbilt employees also qualify for a 20 percent discount on season tickets. Employees can also secure payroll deductions for their season tickets by bringing a Vanderbilt ID to the McGugin Center Box Office located directly across Jess Neely Drive from the main entrance of Hawkins Baseball Field.
Season ticket purchases can be made online at vucommodores.com, by phone at (615) 322-GOLD (4653) or in person at the box office, which is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
