Nashville – The Vanderbilt Football Spring Showcase, the team’s featured practice of Spring Ball, is scheduled for Saturday, March 25 with plenty of activities for Commodore fans of all ages.
The Spring Showcase marks a great opportunity for Vanderbilt fans to witness the progress of Derek Mason’s Commodores. The two-hour event starts at 10 a.m., in Vanderbilt Stadium, with gates opening at 9 a.m.
Mason says the Commodores, coming off a 6-6 regular season and Camping World Independence Bowl appearance, will give fans plenty of excitement. The Showcase will include elements of a traditional Vanderbilt spring practice, including individual fundamentals, 7-on-7 segments, a scripted scrimmage and other drills.
“Our fans will get a sneak peek at the core of this 2017 football squad at the Spring Showcase,” Mason said. “We’ll look to put the ball down and play the game. I definitely think our fans will like what they see.”
Several activities are scheduled before the event. Two popular Nashville food trucks – Juicery + Rustic Kitchen and Music City Brisket – will be on hand offering their favorite menu items on Jess Neely Drive starting at 9 a.m. Inflatables, face painters and balloon artists will be available for young Commodore fans at the Kids Area just outside Gate 2. Other fun activities for families will be located next to the kids’ activities.
All fans attending the Showcase will receive complimentary 2017 schedule posters at Gate 2.
An autograph session on the field with the Commodores will wrap up the Showcase.
