Nashville - New Vanderbilt Football Head Coach James Franklin will appear Thursday on Nashville's top-ranked afternoon sports talk show.

Franklin is scheduled to spend an hour on-air with George Plaster and Willy Daunic, co-hosts of the Allstate Sports Zone Show on FM-104.5 The Zone. Franklin's appearance is slated during the program's prime afternoon drive slot, starting at 4 p.m., CT.

Franklin, hired in December away from the University of Maryland where he served as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the 9-4 Terrapins, will join Plaster and Daunic in studio for the entire hour.

Commodore athletics officials also are planning to officially introduce Franklin at the Ole Miss-Vanderbilt men's basketball game scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Memorial Gym, and are busy preparing a National Signing Day celebration on campus Feb. 2 with Franklin, Vanderbilt students and Commodore fans.

"I've been an extremely busy time since the announcement, but I'm really looking forward to talking about our program on the show," Franklin said. "I welcome the opportunity to update the Nashville community on our program and share my vision for the future of Vanderbilt football."

The show encourages listeners to call in with questions during the hour.
