On offense, wide receiver Jonathan Krause made the first start of his career. Making their first starts of the 2010 season were running back Zac Stacy and defensive end Tim Fugger. Linebacker Nate Campbell saw his first action since the 2008 season ... Campbell opened the game on special teams ... Campbell was not a member of the team during the 2009 season. Defensive end Walker May, wide receiver Tray Herndon and offensive tackle Ryan Seymour made their 2010 debuts.
Defense Cornerback Casey Hayward had his first interception of the season and third of his career with 7:50 to play in the third quarter ... It was his first interception since the Georgia game in 2009 ... Hayward also broke up a pass. Defensive tackle T.J. Greenstone collected his third career sack and first of the year in the second quarter ... It was his first sack since Sept. 19, 2009 against Mississippi State. Defensive tackle Rob Lohr tied his career high with three tackles ... All three tackles were in the first quarter. Linebacker Archibald Barnes forced the first fumble of his career. Defensive end Tim Fugger forced his second fumble in two games and his third of his career. Linebacker Chris Marve made the 27th consecutive start of his career, which is longest on the team.
Offense Running back Warren Norman gained 68 yards on eight carries. Norman's 51 yard run on the opening drive of the third quarter was his longest of the season and second longest of his career ... He had a 58-yard run against Rice last year. Tight end Brandon Barden tied a career high with five receptions totaling 38 yards ... Barden had five catches against Tennessee and Georgia in 2009. Quarterback Larry Smith completed 8-of-15 passes for 70 yards. Quarterback Jared Funk saw his first action of the season when he entered the game with 4:34 to play in the fourth quarter ... Funk also attempted the first pass of his career. Wide receiver Jonathan Krause caught one pass for 22 yards.
Special Teams Punter Richard Kent had a career-long punt of 53 yards in the first quarter. Ryan Fowler connected from 23 yards out with 12:56 to play in the third quarter ... Fowler is now 2-for-3 from the season. Warren Norman totaled 82 yards on four kick returns.
