Pregame Notes
• Vanderbilt is in its 124th year of organized football. 

• The Commodores wore gold helmets and pants with black jerseys for the first time this year.
• Austin Peay won the toss and deferred to the second half with Vanderbilt electing to receive in the first half. 

• Attendance was 33,162.
• Vanderbilt captains for the game were Andrew Hal, Javon Marshall, Carey Spear and Austyn Carta-Samuels.
• Saturday night's game was the first-ever between Vanderbilt and Austin Peay.
• During halftime seven former Commodores were inducted into the Hall of Fame with Billy Joe Adcock, Jamie Duncan, Josie Earnest, Dr. Brant Lipscomb, Carolyn Peck, Jess Roguski Onheiser and Jeremy Sowers being enshrined.

Team Notes
• Vanderbilt improved to 16-1 all-time against FCS opponents and 13-0-1 against teams from the Ohio Valley Conference.
• The victory was James Franklin's 16th at Vanderbilt.

Individual Notes
Jake Sealand made his first career start at middle linebacker.
Latevius Rayford saw his first collegiate action on the opening kickoff.
Taylor Hudson's first punt of the night went a career-best 63 yards.
• Will Hold saw his first action as a Commodore entering the game in the second quarter.
• With his nine-yard catch in the first quarter Jordan Matthews has not caught at least one pass in 22 straight games.
Carey Spear knocked through his first field goal of the year in the first quarter with a 25-yard boot. The senior has made 11 of his last 12 field goal attempts dating back to last season.
Caleb Azubike notched his first sack of the season in the first quarter for a six-yard loss.
• Redshirt freshman Torey Agee made his collegiate debut in the first quarter on the defensive line.
• Freshman Jordan Cunningham made his first career catch with a 12-yard reception in the first quarter.
Brian Kimbrow's six-yard TD run in the second quarter gave him his first score of the year and fourth of his career.
Jonathan Krause's 56-yard catch in the second quarter was a career-long.
• Austyn Carta-Samuel's one-yard rushing TD in the second quarter was his first rushing score as a Commodore.
Karl Butler notched his first tackle for loss of the year pulling down the running back in the backfield for a four-yard loss.
Jimmy Stewart picked up his first QB sack of the year and third of his career in the second quarter.
Jerron Seymour's one-yard plunge in the second quarter was his second TD of the season.
Jordan Matthews' 39-yard TD catch in the second quarter gave him one TD grab in seven straight games and 20 in his career.
Jimmy Stewart's second sack of the game matched his career total of two.
Jordan Matthews went over 100 yards receiving in the first half with six catches to give him 12 games of at least 100 yards receiving. Matthews finished the night with 111 yards on six catches and did not play in the second half.
Walker May made his first sack of the season in the third quarter for a 10-yard loss.
Josh Grady saw his first action of the year coming into the game in the third quarter as the Dores' QB and completing his first pass to Jordan Cunningham.
Patton Robinette saw his first collegiate action taking over at QB in the fourth quarter.
Casey Hughes forced a fumble in the fourth quarter.
• Latevious Rayford made his first catch of his career in the fourth quarter hauling in a 24-yard catch.
Jordan Cunningham led all players with seven catches for 67 yards to set a career-bests.
Kellen Williams led the Commodores with a career-best nine tackles.

Offensive Notes
• Vanderbilt's 38 points in the first half are the most in the first half since 1999 against the Citadel when the Dores led 38-0 at the half.
• The Commodores scored 35 points in the second quarter.
• Vanderbilt gained 442 yards of total offense on the night led by 273 yards passing.

Defensive Notes
• The Vanderbilt defense did not allow the Austin Peay offense to pick up a first down in the first quarter. The Governors gained only 18 yards in the opening quarter.
• The Commodores forced their first turnover of the game late in the first half with Paris Head recovering a fumble.
• VU held Austin Peay to 25 yards and no first downs in the first half.
• Vanderbilt held Austin Peay to 139 yards for the game, including 54 yards passing.

Special Teams Notes
Taylor Hudson's first punt of the night went a career-best 63 yards.
Carey Spear made his first field goal of the season kicking a 25-yard attempt through the uprights in the first half.
