An offensive co-captain, Rodgers put together one of the finest seasons ever by a Vanderbilt senior quarterback... Also became first quarterback in team history to guide Commodores to back-to-back postseason bowl appearances... Started all 12 games in which he participated, leading Commodores to 9-4 record and one of their best seasons in team gridiron history... His season passing totals -191 completions, 2,539 yards and 15 touchdowns - rank among the Top Ten single-season totals ever by a Vanderbilt QB... Rodgers completed 59.9% of his passes, the highest percentage by a Commodore QB since Jay Cutler's junior season in 2004... Played remarkably consistent during Vanderbilt's seven-game win streak to conclude the season, averaging 211 passing yards and nearly two TD passes per game... Passed for at least 170 yards in all but one start... Threw for a season-high 279 yards and two touchdowns to guide Commodores to thrilling 27-26 fourth quarter comeback win at Ole Miss... Also recorded 71 yards and two TDs on the ground vs. Ole Miss... Had two TD passes and a rushing score in Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl victory over N.C. State... Finished the campaign with 12 TD passes in the Commodores' final six games... Though just a two-year player at Vanderbilt, Rodgers finished his career among the team's Top Ten in virtually every passing and total offense category, closing with 299 completions, 4,063 passing yards and 24 TD passes... Participated in two postseason activities: the NFLPA Collegiate All-Star Game and Quicken Loans All-Star Football Challenge.
Rodgers opened the season as the No. 2 quarterback behind Larry Smith, then moved into starting lineup after Smith was injured vs. Georgia... Saw action in all 13 games, earning first starting nod for the Army game... Finished the year with seven starts... His 1,949 yards of total offense rank 14th on Vanderbilt's individual single-season leader board, just ahead of Jay Cutler's freshman campaign in 2002... Topped the squad with 108 completions, 216 pass attempts, 1,524 passing yards and nine passing TDs... Passing total ranks seventh among Vandy junior QBs... Team's second leading rusher with 420 yards on 117 carries... First play from scrimmage of his Commodore career was a 30-yard TD pass to Chris Boyd in the fourth quarter against Elon... First 100-yard passing performance came at Alabama, completing 11-of-18 for 104 yards... Ran for 79 of Commodores' 200 rushing yards against Georgia... Produced first rushing TD and 282 yards of total offense to beat Army... Accounted for four TDs (two rushing, two passing) versus Arkansas... Surpassed 300 yards of total offense (306) for first time vs. Arkansas, amassing 240 passing yards and 66 rushing yards rushing... Bettered that performance at Florida with 317 yards of total offense, including career-high 297 passing yards and two TDs... Also threw two more TDs to defeat Kentucky.
Rodgers spent his first year on campus without seeing action at quarterback... He struggled with a shoulder injury for much of the redshirt season before undergoing corrective surgery in November... Expected to participate on limited basis in 2011 spring drills.
