Monk joined the Commodores during the preseason as a walk-on candidate... He did not enjoy game action, but contributed at receiver on practice squads during the season.

Played wide receiver at University Lab under Coach John Shoptau... Helped lead team to a 7-5 overall record and a first round Louisiana High School Tournament victory over Lake Arthur by a score of 28-6... Also played basketball, baseball, and ran track at University Lab... Earned LHSAA Academic All-State honors for track and field in 2011... Recorded a perfect score of 2400 on SAT... Was also a member of the Key Club, French Club and the student council.
