Norval McKenzie Position: Assistant Recruiting Coordinator

Norval McKenzie will enter his second year as assistant recruiting coordinator with the Commodores in 2011. McKenzie also assists the coaching staff with player development and coordinates the Gridiron Club for former Commodore letterwinners

McKenzie, 29, also served as an graduate assistant coach for the team in 2008-09.

Prior to becoming a grad assistant, McKenzie taught and coached two years at Hiram (Ga.) H.S.

McKenzie, of Powder Springs, Ga., earned four varsity letters for the Commodores from 2001-04. Despite suffering a serious leg injury as a sophomore, he was the team's rushing leader as a junior and senior, finishing with 1,441 career rushing yards.

He holds degrees in secondary education, political science and American history from Vanderbilt. He finished a master's in education last year.
