Matt Ruland

Matt Ruland enters his third year with the Vanderbilt football program, serving as a special assistant for recruiting and operations under Head Coach Derek Mason.

Since arriving on the Vanderbilt campus, Ruland has been a part of a program that has enjoyed back-to-back 9-4 seasons and consecutive victories in the 2012 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and 2013 BBVA Compass Bowl.

Prior to joining the Vanderbilt staff, Ruland worked as a student equipment manager for the University of Maryland Terrapins from 2007-11. During that time, he served as head student equipment manager, managing and directing a staff of 12 undergraduates.

Ruland is a graduate of the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor's degree in Family Science in 2011.
