Position:
Assistant Director of Operations

Matt Britain

Matt Britain enters his first year on the Vanderbilt staff, serving as assistant director of football operations.

A native of Kennesaw, Ga., Britain will assist Director of Football Operations Jason Grooms with the daily management of the Vanderbilt football program, including team travel, housing and special activities.

Britain was a student-athlete on the Ohio University football squad, playing offensive line for current Vanderbilt coach Keven Lightner for the Bobcats from 2008-10.

After seeing his playing career shortened by injuries, Britain continued to participate with the Ohio program, serving as a student manager, facility and event operations assistant and football operations assistant from 2010 to June 2013.

As the Bobcats' operations assistant, he worked with Grooms directly, assisting in the planning, coordination and project development of all day-to-day operations.

During his association with the Bobcats, Ohio University enjoyed plenty of success, playing in four consecutive bowl games and earning back-to-back postseason wins in 2011-12.

A graduate of North Cobb (Ga.) H.S., Britain earned a Bachelor's degree from Ohio University in Sports Administration in 2012.
