Chuck Losey, the former Tennessee State University Director of Speed, Strength and Conditioning and a former Vanderbilt starting defensive lineman, joined the Commodore strength staff in January 2011. Losey will aid Director Dwight Galt as an assistant strength coach for the Vanderbilt football team.
Starting in 2004, Losey was responsible for the design and implementation of all strength and conditioning programs for more than 300 student-athletes at Tennessee State. While at TSU, Losey oversaw the training of two Tiger football players selected in the NFL Draft, including first-round pick Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Prior to joining TSU, Coach Losey worked at Cumberland University as head strength & conditioning coach and defensive line coach.
Losey is a certified strength & conditioning specialist (C.S.C.S.) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is strength & conditioning coach certified (S.C.C.C.) through the College Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association. In addition to the C.S.C.S. & S.C.C.C. certifications, Coach Losey also holds a Sports Performance Coach status with the United States Weightlifting Federation.
Losey played at Vanderbilt from 1998 to 2001. He started 22 straight games during his junior and senior seasons. Losey was voted Vanderbilt's Defensive Lineman of the Year as a senior. Losey is also noted for winning Vanderbilt's first Iron Man competition in the Overall Lineman category.
Losey graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development in 2002. He is married to the former Lauren Rebecca Price, a track standout and graduate of Vanderbilt.
