Vanderbilt Spring Practice - March 18, 2014 (Howell)

Stokes earned the most significant role of his Commodore career as a redshirt sophomore... Playing in every game, Stokes started the final five games at outside linebacker.... Rotated with Nehemiah Mitchell for much of the year in the OLB role... Set numerous season highs, including 12 solo tackles, 24 total tackles, three tackles for loss, four defensed passes and three QB hurries... In five starts, accumulated 18 tackles and four defensed passes... Career high of five total tackles came in win over Kentucky... Had another career high of four solo tackles in finale at Tennessee... First career QB sack proved a key defensive play in eventual victory over Missouri.

Stokes participated in 10 of 12 games as a redshirt freshman... Earning playing time at outside linebacker in 3-4 defensive scheme... Served as key reserve to starters Kyle Woestmann and Stephen Weatherly... Registered four solo tackles during the season, with stops coming against Ole Miss, UMass, Florida and Mississippi State.

Stokes did not see action as a true freshman... Improved strength while impressing coaches as a practice squad defensive end.
